Bubble Battle Blast 3D Playtesting

Welcome to the Bubble Battle Blast 3D play-testing program!

This game is a reboot of an older game of mine called Bubble Battle Blast

Gamepad support has been implemented but not thoroughly tested, some gamepads might not work correctly, or at all. If you want to test out a gamepad, any feedback (along with information about the type of gamepad) would be greatly appreciated, but is not the main focus of this round of playtesting.

The default control scheme for mouse/keyboard controls is as follows:

• fly forward:        W
• fly reverse:        S
• strife left:        A
• strife right:        D
• turn left / right:    mouse
• fire laser:        left click / space
• drop bomb:        E
• fire cannon:        Q
• tech upgrade:        left shift

The game consists of 8 arena battle-style levels (2 minutes in length) in which that player avoids taking damage from a guard ship while trying to shoot and pop as many bubbles as possible. For every 1,000 points, the player will receive a power-up item that will aid them in the game. After every regular arena level is a bonus level. In the bonus level, the player's ship is perpetually thrust forward, with the left/right strife being the only movement the player can make. The player's ship will not have any power-ups active during the bonus round, and laser shots are limited to 3 at a time with meters showing the recharge progress. These bonus levels last about 45 seconds and the objective of them is to hit bubbles with your ship (or shoot them) as it is being propelled through space. The final level is a battle against the space-robot boss and has no time limit. The boss follows a movement pattern consisting of a routine of shooting large lasers at you and then moving to another location; surrounding itself with bubbles, and then healing some of its damage (during which it does not take damage, so you should focus on the bubbles to get another pick-up item).
